Eglwys Oen Duw Beulah

 

 Eglwys Oen Duw roughly translates to The Church of the Lamb of God. I noticed it many years ago when I drove past with my wife on our way to visit The Llyn Brianne Reservoir. I thought at the time I must try and visit some time, it took a few years but I finally managed it. I can find no history but it is a Victorian Church built in 1867 

The one thing that stand out with the church is the central spire

You enter the churchyard by going over this bridge, at least that is whet they did when it the church was first built. There is a car park to my left now

 
On entering the churchyard you are drawn to a fir tree

Around by the East end of the church

West end with new church rooms to the left

The church rooms which look very smart compared to others I have seen

On the north west side of the church you find more recent burials

    We drove past there yesterday and it was very busy with a funeral happening - local farmer I should think. Lots of cars parked up so plenty of people paying him tribute. You have done the church proud with your photos. Thank you.

    What a beautiful church. The font and central spire are unusual. Some lovely stained glass especially the windows in the porch.

    Thank you, so lovely and comforting to read this. On my walk (when visiting my parents who’ve live in Beulah over 20 years), I’ve passed by and popped in a few times. More recently my father passed away rather suddenly in Oct 2023 and in Nov was buried in the churchyard. We had a lovely funeral there. I even purchased some photos from Andrew Dally ( local photographer ) of the church in the Autumn to keep in my home in Dorset. V much enjoyed reading this. Thanks again. Deborah Howard.
