St Margaret, St Margarets

The one church I had wanted to see and nearly missed see after taking a wrong road and ending up at Newton but after looking at my OS maps on my phone I realised I had taken the wrong turn, this was soon rectified and I ended up around the back of the church

No history on Wikipedia but I did this on Visit Hereford Churches so visit the link for more

From from the south side and the village entrance

North east view

Not sure if it is a preaching cross base with a bird bath

The bell cote

South again over the churchyard

Base and churchyard

North side

The churchyard looking east

Same again near the church

Lots of ole headstones in the churchyard

It's also quiet large though I did not venture far around it

Heading to the porch

Door in the porch

Inside and what I had come to see

This stunning rood loft, if you look close in the last photo you can see the top of the entrance door

In the chancel

I did like the stained glass window showing St Margaret

Altar on two pillars

Back of the chancel arch, the rood loft door is to the right
