I had forgotten I had visited this church as it was quite a long time ago I took the photos but passing it recently reminded me . No internal photos as the church was locked but a little history form their website
"Christ Church was designed by E.H.L.
Barker and was built in 1893 on the north side of the main road that
runs through Long Hanborough (now known as the A4095).
Until the late 18th century, St Peter and
St Paul in Church Hanborough was the only place of worship. By the
1890s it was realised that dwindling congregations were partly due to
the need to walk from Long Hanborough. So to deal with this, the
resident rector had a "mission church" build - and so Christ Church came
into existence"South and North views of the church
Above the porch and left a view from the far side of the churchyard
Along the South side
and looking West
The foundation stone with inscription
The war grave of Fight Sergeant A H Richards
Private H H Lovell and Corporal EW Long also buried in the churchyard
The South east side of the churchyard
I will leave you with this view of the church which was taken a few months ago and which jogged my memory of visiting.
Take care till next time I wish you a peaceful weekend

...your military grave stones are beautiful.
I wonder whether the interior is a simple as the exterior. The door hinges are satisfyingly fancy though.
It looks older than 1893 to me.
It looks like a solidly built church with a simple design, but it has all the familiar features with the porch, good porch door etc. It must have been a comfort for locals to have a new church built in the 1890s and for there to be a local churchyard too. Wishing you a peaceful week ahead Bill.
The land for this church was granted by Sir Charles Spencer-Churchill (Sunny) from his estate in 1893 after a request from the local vicar Reverend James Bellamy. 'It was too far' he said for people to walk to Church Hanborough.
Too far seems a bit of a laugh it's only a couple of miles away. More like they wanted their own church. Most of the land around there is owned by the Malbrough Estate
