Walton is a small village in Somerset not far from Glastonbury. I used to drive through the village on the way there and in doing so passed this church. One day I had the chance to stop off and look around
The Holy Trinity Church
One of the first tings I noticed was this corner stone
You have to go round the south side for the entrance to the church
which is through this porch
Going round to the east end where the chancel is lest you see the bell tower off to the right
Commemoration tablet about the restoration of the church
small access door for the vicar to enter through with a couple of nice headstops
Just a shot showing the sid eand a buttress
Worth a look inside with this simple chancel
I doubt many people bother to look at the floor so will miss these beautiful floor tiles
Couple of the wonderful stained glass windows in the church
Here we look out of the chancel towards the nave where you can see the stone pulpit
Not one of my better photos as it was taken hand held
Nice stone &marble font
Tomb effigy which is near the font
another of the stained glass windows
View of the nave looking to the chancel
Think this is the chancel window showing the life of Christ
The chancel arch which I think looks very neat
outside again and the churchyard
There is also a newer part to it
Family memorial set in the church wall
Couple of the older headstones you can see in the churchyard
Final look at the church from the south side
