St Nicholas Sulham

This was a last minute thought of visiting this church. I have been here before many years ago stopping off after a project I was doing at the time. I decided to return and take some more photos of the church and interior . There is little information I could find on the churches history but I did find  quite a good one on the church website so rather than copy it I will leave you to follow the link to read it at St Nicholas Church Sulham 

After entering the churchyard through the Lychgate you take the path through the churchyard

Inside is nice and light looking down the nave

Got to say one of the nice things about the church is the ceiling in the apse

The Church font which is typical of the time the church was built sits in the belltower

All the windows in the church are single lancet stile ones with stained glass

The all depict various scenes from the life of Christ

I think simple and to the point sums them up

Mind you the organ is quite different and does stand out

You walk back out along this line of more recent burials to the Lychgate

All Saints Newbridge-on -Wye

I have passed this church many times on my way to Rhayader though only the other week managed to stop off for a visit. There is very little history I can find on the church other than this

"This Victorian built church was designed by S. W. Williams, and erected in 1883 with later additions. A rather attractive exterior, and located on the side of the A470 in the village of Newbridge-on-Wye."

It looks quite full and most of the headstones are in good condition

The churchyard I notice is one that has more crosses than others I have visited

The church was locked when I visited so no internal shots this week
